Susan’s passion for helping others coupled with her enthusiasm for working with young children as a Speech-Language Pathologist serves as the foundation of Chit Chat for Children’s core values and standards. Susan’s determination and steadfast desire to change the delivery of speech-language therapy into a delightful experience for children and their parents has been proven to be successful and is the goal for every child’s treatment program.

Susan is the owner and treating speech language pathologist at Chit Chat for Children, PC, Speech-Language Therapy. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Disorders and a Master of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology from James Madison University. Susan is a highly qualified speech language pathologist:

  • Nationally certified member – Certificate of Clinical Competence, American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • Licensed Speech Language Pathologist, State of Virginia
  • Certified Speech Language Pathologist Service Provider for Early Intervention Virginia (VAEIS)


Susan has extensive experience working with young children who are demonstrating expressive and receptive language delays, childhood apraxia of speech, articulation concerns, genetic disorders, neurological disorders, cleft palate, auditory processing issues, phonological disorders, sensory and motor feeding impairment, limited social skills and autism and autism like behavior.  She also has advanced training in the area of cochlear implants.

Susan’s proven clinical experience is a result of more than 20 years in private practice, early intervention services (Infant Toddler Connection of Virginia) and public schools.

Susan is the mother of 4 wonderful children who keep her busy and very happy.  She enjoys spending time with her family, relaxing at the beach and exercising.
